The $RGNT token (NOT LIVE)

Bond, protocol cut and governance. No contract address yet.

$RGNT is the planned token of the Regent design. It has three jobs: it is the bond a bidder must lock before bidding for a seat, it receives part of the protocol cut through a buy and burn and through staking, and it carries governance over a short list of parameters. This page describes those jobs as designed. It contains no supply figure, no allocation and no date, because none of those are defined.

No bond, no bid#

To bid in a seat auction, an address must first lock a $RGNT bond sized by the tier of the pool. A bid from an address without a bond is rejected. That is the whole rule: whoever wants to bid for seats needs a bond first.

The bond backs the regent's duties. During DAY, when the Chainlink tokenized-equity feed is fresh and market status is open, the regent must keep the pool price within ±max(current fee, 0.30%) of the oracle. More than 60 s outside the band is a breach, and the bond is slashed for every breach-second:

Share of each slashGoes to
50%The pool's LPs
10%Whoever called poke()
40%Burned

Outside DAY there are no duties, so nothing can be slashed; the bond is then simply the entry ticket to the auction. The bid itself is separate. It is paid in USDG, escrowed upfront and streamed to LPs, and slashing never touches it. The mechanics are on Seat duties and slashing.

The protocol cut#

The protocol takes 10% of every winning bid. The other 90% streams to LPs as rent. The cut is split three ways:

Share of the cutDestination
50%Buys $RGNT and burns it
30%Paid to stakers, in USDG
20%Treasury
90% rent to in-range LPs10% cut = 50% burn / 30% stakers / 20% treasury
Of every winning bid: 90% rent to LPs, 10% protocol cut (50% buy and burn, 30% stakers in USDG, 20% treasury).

Three things follow from this structure, and none of them is a promise.

The cut is taken from auction proceeds and from nothing else. If seats go unsold, the cut is zero, the burn is zero and stakers receive nothing. Rent depends on auctions and can be zero; so does everything downstream of it.

The stakers' share is paid in USDG, the currency of the auction. No $RGNT emissions of any kind are defined.

How the buy and burn is executed, on which venue and at what cadence, is not defined yet. Neither is what the treasury may spend on.

Governance#

Stakers govern four things:

  • Fee bounds. The floor of 0.05% and the per-session caps inside which a regent sets the fee. See Seat rights.
  • Bell window length. Currently designed as 20 seconds.
  • Tiers. The pool tiers and the bond size for each.
  • The holiday calendar. The NYSE holidays and early closes that SessionClock follows, cross-checked with Chainlink market status. See Sessions and the calendar.

The design lists these four and nothing else. In particular it gives governance no claim on LP funds. Voting rules, quorums and timelocks are not defined yet, and this page will not guess at them. Every governable number is listed on Parameters.

Planned contracts#

Two of the seven planned contracts concern the token directly. Neither is deployed.

ContractPlanned role
BondRegistryHolds locked bonds, tells SeatAuction whether a bidder is bonded, executes slashes reported by DutyMonitor and applies the split
StakingVaultHolds staked $RGNT, receives the stakers' share of the protocol cut in USDG, and is the basis for governance

Draft interfaces, and how these two connect to SeatAuction, RentStream and DutyMonitor, are on Architecture and contracts.

What the token is not#

  • Not a claim on LP funds. Holding or staking $RGNT gives no right to any pool's liquidity or to the rent, which belongs to LPs.
  • Not a promise of return. There is no yield figure here. The staking share exists only if auctions produce winning bids.
  • Not required to be an LP or a trader. LPs receive rent in USDG and traders swap as in any pool. Only bidders need a bond.
  • Not defined in supply, allocation or schedule. No total supply, no distribution, no vesting and no launch date have been set. Any document that states them is not from this project.
  • Not available yet. There is nothing to buy, claim, bridge or stake. Nothing of the kind has been announced: no presale, no airdrop, no whitelist.
  • Not financial advice. Nothing on this page is a recommendation to acquire anything.

How the address will be announced#

When a contract exists, its address will be published in two places: on X at x.com/Regent_rwa and on this site. To verify it:

  1. Find the address in both places yourself. Type the site's domain; do not follow a link from a message, a reply or an ad.
  2. Compare the two addresses character by character, all of them, not only the first and last four.
  3. Treat any other source as untrusted. That includes direct messages, replies under the project's posts, search ads, token lists and anyone saying they are on the team. Treat unsolicited contact about the token as a scam attempt.
  4. If the two sources disagree, or only one of them shows an address, assume there is no valid address.

Until then, the correct contract address for $RGNT is: none. Regent is an independent project, not affiliated with or endorsed by Robinhood, Uniswap, Chainlink, NYSE or any issuer. See Risks and disclaimers.
